Match Update

Russell Sherwood  Wednesday, October 3, 2018

Italy have raced to an early 12-4 lead in this event

These early results are somewhat misleading - the event is effectively in two halves:

On the top half of the table, we are behind 3.5-4.5, despite a near 100 average elo disadvantage. On the bottom half, we are doing rather less well with a 0.5-7.5 scoreline, although this is to be expected considering an over 300 elo average disadvantage!

So we fight on!

More Team Success!

Congratulations to Upper Killay in both topping the Division and beating local rivals Castle Ned in the BCCL 1st Division

New Records

Russell Sherwood  Tuesday, October 2, 2018

It is great to report new records.

We reached a new record in terms of posts in a month, passed 150 posts for the year and had a record number of visitors both from international and UK sources!

Catherine Pyrich

Austin Lockwood  Sunday, September 30, 2018

The thoughts of all delegates and attendees at the recent ICCF Congress in Llandudno were with the sad loss of the former ICCF Finance Director and National Delegate for Scotland, George Pyrich.

ICCF and the Welsh Correspondence Chess Federation were honoured that George's wife, Catherine, accepted our invitation to attend Congress.  George's sister Irene, and brother Ronnie also attended the excursion to Llanberis and the closing banquet of Congress.

Many Congress attendees have told me how much they appreciated meeting members of George's family at Congress.

Catherine wrote to me recently to ask me to announce publicly her thanks to ICCF and WCCF for making her feel welcomed and supported.

Congratulations
