RCCA 25 Years 960 Invitational

Russell Sherwood  Saturday, February 3, 2018

Good Luck to John Claridge in the RCCA 25 Years 960 Invitational. This is probably the strongest 960 event organised to date, including many of the highest rated 960 players.

Want something different? Why not try Chess 960.

With the rearrangement of the starting pieces, opening books are almost useless and engines struggle - a fascinating battle awaits!

Well done to Paul Keevil in picking up a 2nd CCE Norm in WCCF 5th Invitational

Paul only needs 1 point from his 3 remaining games to secure the title!

Da iawn!

2018 ICCF Congress

Austin Lockwood  Sunday, January 7, 2018

The Welsh Correspondence Chess Federation will host the 2018 ICCF Congress from 19th - 23rd August at the Imperial Hotel, Llandudno.

This will be the second time Wales has hosted Congress, having previously hosted the event in Cardiff, 2015.

During the week, delegates from around the world will convene in Llandudno to make important decisions about correspondence chess and it's future.

Following the opening ceremony on Monday 20th August, there will be an awards presentation, during which the ICCF President will present medals and certificates to title holders and tournament winners.  Any Welsh player who has earned a title (including CCE and CCM titles) since the last Congress will be very welcome to attend the ceremony and collect their award in person.  We are also hoping that the gold medals for the North Atlantic Team Tournament will be awarded to the Welsh team, although the outcome is still not completely certain!

Further details can be found on the Congress website, here; the full itinerary is here.
